EMDR
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a therapy approach that helps the brain process and heal from distressing experiences.

EMDR Therapy
When we sleep, we enter the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage, where our eyes move back and forth. During this time, the brain naturally processes and organizes memories—like filing away the experiences of the day into the right “folders.”
Sometimes, when something overwhelming or traumatic happens, the brain can’t finish that filing process. The memory gets “stuck,” and reminders of the event can trigger emotional distress, anxiety, or physical reactions.
EMDR helps the brain reprocess these experiences so they can be properly stored and no longer feel as raw or triggering. Many clients notice a significant decrease in distress after completing EMDR therapy.
Although EMDR was originally developed to treat trauma and PTSD, research has shown it can also be effective for anxiety, phobias, grief, self-esteem issues, and other emotional difficulties
